Sony Confirms that PlayStation 5 is coming out in 2020

Gamers rejoice as Sony announced that their next-gen console PlayStation 5 will be released in 2020. President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) Jim Ryan posted a blog on the official website of PlayStation that they originally unveiled their next-generation console last April and they are aware that there has been a lot of commotion and enthusiasm in hearing more about what the future of gaming will be. He confirmed in his statement that the PlayStation 5 will be launching in the holiday of 2020 but we are not sure what holiday in 2020 will be it. Months have passed after the rumors about PlayStation 5 and finally, it is now official.

Numerous speculations about its specs have surfaced on the internet that it will support an 8k TV resolution, third-generation Ryzen CPU along with its later Radeon Navi GPU, and a Solid State Drive to render faster loadings/file transfer. The next-gen console of PS5 will also support Ray Tracing for its upcoming games. Its genuine specs are still an enigma and are not fully official but one thing’s for sure that it will be much better than the previous generation and probably it can somehow match the performance of a mid-range gaming PC. Aside from the specs, they will have a new controller for the upcoming PS5 that will focus more on immersion by redefining it.

The first key innovation is that they are adopting haptic or a 3D touch feedback to replace the “rumble” technology found in controllers since the 5th generations of consoles. With that being said, these kinds of 3D touch technology will truly feel a broader range of feedback like when bumping into a wall when driving a racing car gives a more detailed immersion and other areas like traversing through different terrains. Maybe this is kind of a next-level vibration of the PS5’s controller or there’s more to it when it is finally unveiled.

The second innovation of the much-awaited PlayStation 5 is the Adaptive Triggers which have been included in the L2 and R2 buttons that are also known as the trigger buttons. With this kind of innovation, developers can now program the resistance that the tactile sensation. They even added a note that by combining the technology of Haptics, it can generate a vigorous experience that can better imitate numerous actions. Since the PS5′ release date has been announced and its new controllers, the game creators have started to receive early versions of the new controller and it’s up to their creativities and imaginations to fully utilize the new features of the controller.

Up to this point, no PlayStation 5 exclusive games yet to be announced. Even the rumored game Grand Theft Auto 6 is still tentative. Even if the PS5 has been released, we hope that Sony will continue to support the PS4 like giving updates, supported games, and accessories because not everyone will immediately buy the PS5 and the price of the PS4 is expected to be lower once the PS5 is officially released.
